I purchased the Spark (size 8) tenor mouthpiece because I needed a loud mouthpiece to help me cut through and project when I play Salsa, Rock and Funk (I still adore my hard rubber jazz piece, but it wasn’t cutting it on those loud gigs). The Spark has worked like a charm and is surprisingly easy to tune and balance while still allowing me to project for these genres. I also appreciate that it doesn’t compress my cork (like one metal mouthpiece I was trying out for the same purpose) which makes it easy for me to switch from the Spark to my other mouthpiece whenever I need to. I’ve even been able to comfortably play a couple gigs un-amplified, which was never possible before. I would definitely recommend this one to anyone looking for a loud bright sound!

I got this mouthpiece specifically for playing in the supporters section for my hometown MLS team. I needed something that’s going to project in a stadium filled with 20k people and this mouthpiece was way more affordable than the metal options I was checking out.
So far I’ve been very happy with it. Responds great. Projects. Great tone from the bottom register to the top.
For jazz gigs, I’d probablywant something with a little more warmth. But I will likely start using this for rock gigs as well as in stadium.

I was hesitant to buy a mouthpiece online without test playing it. I made the decision to take the leap of faith when the 1/2 off sale offer arrived. I knew the deal was no returns, but at the half off price point I was willing to chance it (including getting a color I wouldn't choose for myself - since Syos got to determine the color).

The order took a little longer to arrive than I expected. But I attribute that to the fact that the sale may have created a bigger backlog than they expected.

The mouthpiece arrived in good condition, packaged well. It was physically lighter than I expected.

From a playability standpoint, the mouthpiece is solid. It has a bright tone, and seems to be free blowing. I have a Berg Larsen 100/0 that has been my main mouthpiece for 30+ years. And this mouthpiece is a touch brighter and projects a little bit more. I will use it for gigs where I need a little extra - such as a noisy dance or something outdoors.

A couple of things surprised me. The exterior finish is a little grainy. It feels a bit weird compared to my other mouthpieces. And for some reason, it seems slippery. I have to be extra careful when handling it, and I am still experimenting with what I have to do with the placement of the ligature. I am paranoid that it is slipping, so I am really tightening it down.

The tooth guard also takes some getting used to.

Bottom line, the mouthpiece is good quality, and it plays with a sound profile that was promised. If I had purchased it under terms where I could exchange it, I probably would have done that to get a different tip opening. But I knew that option wasn't available because of the sale. Overall I am good with the performance for the price I paid (even if I hate the color I got).

I took adavantage of the recent 50% (cant choose a colour) offer for what I thought would be a 'spare' mouthpiece as I was very happy with my Vandoren Jumbo Java T45. The orange version colour woul not have been my first choice but has grown on me. The main thing though is that I could not believe how good this Spark 6 plays. For me it plays better than the T45 from the low mids and altissimo. So good that I ordered at the full price the anthracite version that looks like metal from a short distance and as you would expect plays exactly the same as orange one. I did try the SYOS ligature but found my Rovner Dark easier to get the reed in the correct position.

I wanted a bright and powerful mouthpiece which the Spark provides in spades. What I wasn't expecting was it's versatility as it can be played softly with depth and feeling. I also love the ring ligature which holds the reed firmly and securely, something I didn't expect. I even like the external texture of the 3D printed plastic Spark. I really do think I have a great mouthpiece, especially at half price and the colour wasn't to garish at all. Yey!

I am very pleased with my new Spark Tenor Sax Mouthpiece. It proved itself when I had to play outside at an event and it was a great alternative to my current metal Jody Jazz DV 7. Still getting use to the Spark and comparing mpcs for recordings I’m making. Jury still out.

Son hyper métallique, je trouve horrible le résultat sonore de ce bec, je l’ai rangé dans son étui et je le ressortirai jamais tellement je suis déçu de cet achat

It is a fine mouthpiece, it would be nice being able to try multiple tip openings. Long time waiting for product the the EU.

Love my new Spark #6. A nice deeper, fuller tenor sax sound than my Otto Link metal and Bari hybrid. Is easier to play on low and high ranges. The red color is cool for rock gigs. The ring makes for easy reed install and use.The cap needs some refinement in design as it will not stay on (with or without the ring)..🎷🎶

I am keeping this simply as a challenge to try and make it sound good. I'm not the best but I find this hard to get a good consistent tone out of it.

Bought this to begin exploring funk. But it’s so much more! Bright, punchy but you can go soft when you need to as well. Still enjoying experimenting with it, and thinking about buying other ones.
