I became curious about this mouthpiece by watching a tenor sax solo by Yanik Coderre on Youtube. It felt like I had found the sound I'd wanted to play for a long time. I did some research and contacted Yanik who was very kind and told me what mouthpiece he uses. After placing the order with Syos I received the same mouthpiece that Yanik uses (customized by himself) and I must say that it was a pleasant surprise. Easy to play and with a sound that satisfies me a lot. Let me start by saying that I use a Dave Guardala Studio and Super King. What I was trying to get a little less metallic sound. Obviously I've only been playing it for a short time but for the moment I have to be fully satisfied. This is my second Syos mouthpiece I've purchased. The other is for soprano sax and with which I get along very well.

Un super bec , facile à jouer , une émission du son incroyablement simple , que ce soit pour jouer fort ou jouer tout doux .
Très bon bec dans l' ensemble a terme tout mes bec seront des syos , ca c est sur .
Soprano et alto arriveront bientôt ainsi que les anches .

Bec donnant un son clair puissant, avec autant dans les aigus que les graves une amélioration nette du rendu sonore. Nécessite quelques jours d'adaptation.

Bonjour, j'ai reçu depuis quelques semaines le bec SYOS Signature avec ouverture 8 . Après utilisation j’apprécie le son (timbre) proche du son souhaité avec une facilité d'émission. Par contre j'ai toujours un petit soucis au niveau d'un (couac) quelques fois sur quelques notes !
J'ai changé les anches 2,5 . 3 Soft … de marques différentes, j'ai toujours ce petit soucis.
Je pense que cela va peut être se résoudre avec un travail plus précis sur ma position !

I recently started playing the tenor saxophone, after having played the alto for many years.
Following my purchase of a tenor sax, I was looking for a mouthpiece that would allow me to get the sound I was looking for. Being quite an admirer of Yannick CODERRE, I came across one of his videos where he was demoing his brand new Syos mouthpiece, and revealing the magnificent sound he was getting from it, with more ease than his metal Durga mouthpiece.
Although I'm a tenor beginner (but I played a lot of alto), I bought this mouthpiece in the same configuration as the one played by Yanick with a 8 tip opening.... I had big difficulties on the attacks of the notes, too brutal.
I exchanged with Yannick Coderre (what a great guy) and also with Syos, and I came myself to the store to try the 5* to 8 (dedicated room in the basement and warm welcome)
I then found my happiness (6).
I love the sound of this mouthpiece, and it is indeed quite easy to play if you have an experienced embouchure.
I recommend it to all those who are looking for a brilliant sound that sounds great no matter how much power you put into it.

"I played on a Theo Wane signature Mindy Abair opening 8 metal mouthpiece. I really like the sound of this mouthpiece and its design as well as the fixed ligature. I had the nice bright sound I was looking for but it projected a little too much and when I played in restaurants it bothered the audience nearby. I could play softly but it required a lot of jaw effort that was quite tiring in the long run.
I saw the video of yanick Coderre and it seemed to be what I needed.
I chatted with syos for the opening I wanted to take less open for fear of encountering the same problem as with the Theo Wane but I was advised MORE open because syos mouthpieces are easier to play.
I admit that I was a bit confused but I listened to the advice I was given otherwise why ask for advice.
I'm 3 gigs in with my syos and it's really great I can have a brilliant sound but also it can be soft and warm when I blow less in it. Really thanks for the advice and kudos for the design.
Negative points:
I had a little trouble with the ligature at first but I found the trick to getting it right so it's fine.
I prefer to use the metal mouthpieces because they are thinner and more comfortable for me but it's personal and I'm getting used to it. And finally I'm not a fan of the design it's a bit big and I took the gray color it looks like a plumber's pvc fitting the material is cheap.
But in the end I'm happy with my purchase".
