Normally, I play the Tenor Sax. There I love to play Syos most mouthpieces.
I love big chambers for a full tone., and the Yannick Corder mouthpiece for going bright and powerful.
So I ordered one for my beginner alt sax “expression”. It works fantastic. I love it..
special the Alto Yannick. At Tenor i play now my new Lorren Chiodo 8*. There I don’t need the extra edgy thing.
I play also other mouthpieces, but syos is most often first choice. Love it!

Nice, bright punchy piece. Super easy to play top to bottom. Maybe I'll have to work gettin' more depth and warmth from it, but still love it.

Not completely straight so no matter what tree you use there will be movement and gaps between the reed and the mouthpiece. Would not recommend

Alto Signature Saxophone mouthpiece - Yanick Coderre

J'utilise mon nouveau bec Syos signature Yanick Coderre pour alto, chaque jour depuis sa réception. J'avais un meyer ouverture 5 qui était bien aussi, mais le Syos est bien plus facile à jouer. Je l'ai pris en ouverture 6, j'aime le son un peu plus brillant et la bonne projection. J'en prendrai certainement un pour mon ténor.

Je cherchais un bec ouvert comme le Berg Larsen que je joue actuellement, mais avec plus de puissance et de projection pour un jeu en extérieur. Pari réussi, Le bec Alto Signature - Yanick Coderre. se montre puissant quand on le sollicite mais étonne également par sa souplesse et la facilité d'émission tant dans le registre grave que dans l'aigu. Petit bémol pour la partie accessoires : le couvre bec maison ne couvre que le bout de l'anche et peut tomber facilement; la ligature, originale et facile à mettre en place peut parfois se montrer un peu volage avec certains types d'anches au talon un peu plus mince... mais je ne regrette pas mon choix ! A tester, dans d'autres configurations, avec le soprano et le ténor...

I previously had the same signature mouth piece with a slightly large opening and unfortunately my dog got to it😖. To me it was a slightly better fit as when I push air through the 5.5 I noticed if I go strong at times I will get a squeak which for me is not normal. However I found there is an ease to the scale and I enjoy the difference in sound. Overall I believe if you tend to blow stronger I would go with a larger tip opening.

The ease of play and range of usage is insane, a long with the tone and power from this mouth piece,

I am already sizing one up for my tenor!

Déjà l’heureux possesseur d’un bec signature Y. Coderre pour mon ténor, j’ai souhaité changer de bec sur mon sax alto.
Après avoir joué longtemps sur un bec métal Otto Link, j’étais passé pour plus de facilité dans le jeu à un bec Meyer.
Cette facilité a cependant ses pendants; Un son moins puissant et surtout un peu trop terne à mon goût.
Recherchant un son plus brillant, j’ai donc essayé le bec alto signature de Y. Coderre en plusieurs ouvertures (6 à 8) ainsi qu’un bec Spark afin d’aller au bout de la démarche de recherche de brillance.
Mon choix s’est donc arrêté sur le « signature » dont l’équilibre m’a tout de suite séduit (le « spark » s’est avéré trop brillant pour le son que je recherchais).
J’ai pu vérifier qu’il ne s’agissait pas d’une hallucination auditive en comparant l’enregistrement d’un titre que je joue habituellement, et en effet la différence est flagrante.
J’ai ainsi découvert un son d’alto qui me plaît particulièrement, et que je n’avais jamais produit auparavant pour être honnête.
Tout ça sans difficulté de jeu (comparé à mon Otto Link).
Je recommande ce bec qui m’a totalement séduit, et m’a carrément fait redécouvrir mon alto.

Avevo bisogno di un bocchino che potesse darmi potenza quando suono nella band, ma allo stesso tempo avere una profondità e sonorità tale da dare un timbro corposo nel live, ma che fosse allo stesso tempo brillante o caldo a seconda del genere musicale, beh, finalmente l'ho trovato.
Potenza, brillantezza, ma anche suono caldo e rotondo quando serve....con la giusta impostazione ci esce di tutto, credo di aver trovato il mio bocchino definitivo, quantomeno da poter utilizzare in varie condizioni.

The Yanick Coderre alto mouthpiece I purchased is so smooth and free blowing it made me fall in love with my Yani AW01 all over again. I tend to lean towards favoring my tenors but this mouthpiece blows me away.

By far, the most consistent mouthpiece I've ever played on. The box says it all....

Tout comme pour mon bec de Bar et de Ténor , le petit dernier m'a redonné plaisir à jouer de l'alto que je n'utilisais que dans de très rares occasions. Peut être mieux fini. Je regrette les couleurs acidulées qui ont disparues... et un protège bec, mais bon tout augmente... Merci Pauline, Syos what else ?

I played a Theo Wane signature Mindy Abair metal mouthpiece with an opening of 8 (2.18). I really like the sound of this mouthpiece and its design as well as the fixed ligature. I had the bright sound I was looking for but it projected a little too much and when I played in restaurants it bothered the audience nearby. I could play softly but it required a rather tiring jaw effort in the long run. I saw the video of yanick Coderre and it seemed to be what I needed. I chatted with syos for the opening I wanted to take less open for fear of encountering the same problem as with the Theo Wane but I was advised MORE open 7* (2,28) because syos mouthpieces are easier to play. I admit that I was a bit lost but I listened to the advice I was given otherwise why ask for advice. I'm 3 gigs in with my syos and it's really great I can have a brilliant sound but also it can be soft and warm when I blow less in it. Really thanks for the advice and kudos for the design. Negative points: I had a little trouble with the ligature at first but I found the trick to getting it right so it's fine. I prefer to use metal mouthpieces because they are thinner and more comfortable for me but it's personal and I'm getting used to it. And finally I'm not a fan of the design it's a bit big and I took the gray color it looks like a plumber's pvc fitting the material makes chip. But in the end I'm happy with my purchase

I ordered 2 signature mouthpieces and received them very quickly. Unfortunately these mouthpieces did not suit me, I sent them back and the refund was very quick.
