Après une longue hésitation, j’ai finalement commandé en ligne un bec pour mon C-melody chez Syos.
À la réception, j’avais quelques doutes quant à sa compatibilité avec mon Conn C-melody de 1953.
Après confirmation qu’il s’agissait bien d’une version C-melody, j’ai décidé de l’essayer.

Après 5 sessions de 30 minutes de jeu en live dans la rue, je suis complètement bluffé.
Le bec joue de façon incroyable — un grand bravo à Syos !

I couldn’t be happier with my experience with SYOS.

This was not my first SYOS mouthpiece – for years I played a CLB, which is an excellent mouthpiece, although I eventually realized I couldn’t quite tame the brightness in the upper register. Still, it served me well.

This time I returned to SYOS to try what truly sets them apart: Shape Your Own Sound – the chance to design a mouthpiece tailored to my personal preferences.

Once again, the whole experience has been outstanding. Not only are the prototypes of excellent quality (easy to play with a great sound), but the customer support is equally impressive. I was assisted by Kim, who was always attentive, quick to listen to my feedback, and ready to propose solutions. Communication is essential in this process, and SYOS really delivers.

After about a month of playing and comparing several prototypes, I believe I’ve finally found exactly what I was looking for.

I purchased a custom mouthpiece about a month ago. I was having a hard time with it until I realized my saxophone required some serious repair, which I have now acquired. Now, I am enjoying a very satisfying piece of equipment. It turns out I was able to pick the exact specs I was looking for. The mouthpiece is easy to play and I get the sound I was expecting. Now that my sax has been repaired, I am getting great results with the Syos Steady also, more than before. Syos makes a great product, and I highly recommend these mouthpieces.

Terrible product, arrived unfinished and with damage. Tried to talk to customer service and after some time they ghosted me.

The mouthpiece is good, I am happy with it. I hasn’t made a huge difference to my playing, because I am still a novice.

Client depuis plusieurs années chez Syos (j'ai quand même eu 3 becs + 2 freaks), je ne me considérais pas comme assez expert pour un bec sur mesure ...
Et puis cette année, pour commencer ma retraite en beauté, j'ai tenté le coup et je me suis offert le sur-mesure !
Et je ne regrette pas "l'aventure" :
- la possibilité de jouer pendant plusieurs jours, dans son environnement habituel, change la donne,
- le dialogue instauré avec Maxime est très enrichissant,
- on se sent en confiance, sans pression aucune,
- et le choix final se fait vraiment entre plusieurs becs différents que l'on a eu le temps de tester entre eux (dans mon cas personnel ça a pris quand même 1 mois !)
Et en plus il est très beau en Artic White avec un design Wind !

J'avais eu la possibilité d'essayer un bec "Mickael WILBUR" 7*. J'ai commandé le même, mais en ouverture 6* (couleur Artic white). Il correspond tout à fait à mon attente.

I compared my old mouthpiece to the first Syos mouthpiece I purchased, the Spark, and man what a difference in a good way. My sound was fuller, and it brought a measure of ease, to playing my tenor horn. I have since purchased two additional Tenor Syos mouthpieces, and they have both moved me closer to the sound in my head, I am searching for….I still play them all, and enjoy the sound I hear. I have a brother (a studio base musician) and he says “ man you should join me in a session, your sound is better than some of tenor horn musicians we use from time to time”. ☺️

Like all horn players, I was and still am in search of a better sound on my horn, and these Syos mouth pieces have moved me closer than ever, toward that sound. I absolutely love, enjoy and will continue playing them. You should give them a try, I promise you will not be disappointed.
From an old timer, who started way late in life, playing and enjoying the beautiful sound of the Tenor horn.👨🏼‍🦳

Oh yea one more extremely important item I almost forgot…Their tech and customer service is second to none…in fact they initiated and offered the best customer service I have experienced, in all my online and in store purchases…

Dear Staff at SYOS,
I am very pleased with my phantom blue 6 star, 2 and 2 SYOS Custom mouthpiece, for tenor saxophone. Ben Webster had a 2 and 2 set up with a 9 top opening? He played on a pre-war metal Otto Link mouthpiece. I don't sound like Ben Webster, but I am very pleased with how I sound. My set up is; the SYOS mouthpiece above with a Vandoren Juno 2 reed on a Yanagisawa T500 tenor saxophone. Six star with 2 and 2 was a good guess!

This mouthpiece is great! I’d like a bit more free-blowing but I love the edge and power it gives me. I think once I figure out the reed combination I need to use, it’ll be perfect.

Après plusieurs modifications de becs , les becs ne me conviennent pas, dommage car le sav était à mon écoute pour faire les meilleurs modifications ! Le son du bec était bien mais assez compliqué à jouer les sons ne sortaient pas naturellement. C’est vraiment dommage car le reste des services est au top!

Tellement heureux après la réception et le test de mon bec. Le bonheur absolu même si j’étais perplexe par rapport à la configuration que j’ai proposé mais c’est terrible de jouer avec bonheur et comme on se l’imaginait. Un vrai régal et je pense même passer le cap de m’en laisser faire un plus tard pour ma clarinette basse. Incroyable j’adore

I’ve tried all the big name mouthpieces, even the very expensive ones, and the SYOS custom blows all of them away. You don’t need a metal or hard rubber mouthpiece to sound great. This piece along with a good horn like I have will step up your sound for sure.

Mon bec Syos pour mon saxophone C Melody est une merveille. Il offre une belle projection, avec une homogénéité, châleur et facilité en même temps. Je recommande Syos à quiconque est à la recherche d'un bec sur mesure.

I used to play a 7 Otto Link Tone edge. I was quite satisfied with it but there were couple of things I was missing. When I ordered the Syos custom mouthpiece I described what I liked and what I was missing in my mouthpiece. After I got the first Syos mouthpiece it took very little to come to the point to have a mouthpiece that is as close as possible to what I needed. At the end I had two Syos mouthpieces that were so different yet so close to what I wanted. It took me a while to choose which one to keep. The one I kept has a warm dark sound exactly as I wanted. At the same time it gives me good projection and I can push it when needed. It definitely has a character and a good color in its sound. As a bonus it is very free blowing. I am quite satisfied with what I got.

I love the mouthpiece so much now I’m thinking of switching to Tenor saxophone

Le surfaçage est rainuré , ainsi que la plaque d’appuis l’ anche, de plus j’ai une anche plastique (légère french cut 2,5

Dear syos! When i order the custom mouthpiece, i was a bit afraid, will it fit for me, do i know what i exactly want ?
And the answer is yes ! This mouthpiece is exactly what i want! I can do any sound, any figure, literarly anything what i want in any style with this mouthpiece. So ... i cant found the words but im soo glat to you for this! Thank you very much for my unic and perfect mouthpiece! I will order a mouthpiece for my alto to!

Excellent, juste un tout petit regret, j'aurais dû prendre une ouverture très légèrement supérieure mais ça n'est pas de votre faute bien évidemment.
Cependant, il correspond parfaitement à ce que je recherchais. Merci 😉
