Continuing our look back at ten years of Syos, here's 2020 — a year like no other.
A US tour, then lockdown
In 2020 we went on a big tour of the United States, right before we all found ourselves locked down because of Covid.
It was a difficult year for everyone, but we managed to keep smiling despite the situation.
Keeping our spirits up: the Syos Challenges
What helped most were the Syos Challenges we threw your way — a real breath of fresh air! For over a month, we posted video challenges, and so many of you took part that it truly warmed our hearts to see everyone joining in like that. It was such good fun, and we were genuinely impressed by your creativity!
Our first clarinet mouthpieces
2020 was also the year we released our clarinet mouthpieces, through collaborations with wonderful artists such as Chloe Feoranzo, Shabaka Hutchings, Jeff Coffin, Arrington de Dionyso and many more!
Music from a distance: our collective videos
It was a very creative year. We made videos with many Syos musicians from around the world: first, a rendition of Alone Together, and then Blues for Alice to celebrate the Syos “Bird's Day” — a nod to Charlie Parker, whose birthday also happens to be the day Syos was founded :)
