CHARACTERISTICS
This mouthpiece has a medium but low step baffle coupled with a small chamber. It's perfect for a nice warm and focused sound with still a lot of projection.

On advice of the SYOS team I chose the Max Ionata for tenor sax with tip opening 8. It works for me wonderfully well in combination with 2,5 strength reeds. Recommended!
le bec fonctionne bien. La ligature n'est pas optimale. J'en ai mis une autre, plus serrée. J'ai entendu que vous faisiez des promos de temps en temps mais je ne sais pas comment y accéder ?
Very happy with the sound of this mouthpiece. I loved my old OttoLink mouthpiece on my vintage Buffet tenor, but it sounded a bit restrained on my new Tenor Madness. The Max Ionata has opened up the sound.
Good player. But as usual one needs to find a brand of reed that works for ones own physiognomy. This took 3 weeks for me. I have another sound than Max. And am 80 years old. This means that I have Gene Ammons, Sonny Stitt, Stanley Turrentine , Fred Jackson, Hank Mobley, Wayne, George Coleman, Irv Williams,
Fat Head, James Clay, Harold Land, Teddy Edwards, in my sound palette.
This piece cannot give me this æsthetic. But for a player in Maxes generation, this is a wonderful piece!
Very even response across the whole range of my horn (MkVI). Nice bright edge when you want it, but otherwise it has a full thick tone, perfect for jazz IMO. Upper mids are present unlike a lot of darkish mouthpieces. Overall I'm very happy with it - except that I still don't sound like Max!!
Après de multiples recherches j'ai enfin trouvé LE bec idéal pour mois, et ce, à un prix raisonnable. Petit bémol, le couvre bec nettement pas au niveau.

this is an exact replacement of a lost mouthpiece. It plays absolutely consistently with the prior mouthpiece. It is mellow, responsive, altissimo very easy and free blowing. I am, again, very pleased

Très bon bec. Facile d'émission, son assez doux et centré, polyvalent.
J'ai acheté ce bec pour jouer avec la fanfare. Il a une belle couleur et le son que je cherchais. Par contre il faut positionner l'anche minutieusement et c'est plus facile avec une anche Syos. Mais je n'ai pas un niveau très élevé. Je garde mon ancien bec Vandoren en quatuor.

Un bec qui correspond à mes attentes. Après l'essai de plusieurs becs SYOS, je m'approche enfin de ce que je cherche.
Il y a quelques années, j'ai acheté un bec SYOS, que je n'ai pas beaucoup utilisé car je n'aimais pas le son. Je pensais que cela provenait de la matière de ce bec. Je l'ai essayé de nouveau dernièrement. Je n'ai toujours pas aimé le son mais j'ai été séduite par sa facilité d'émission. J'ai fait des recherches sur le site de SYOS et j'ai compris que je le 1er bec que j'ai acheté était trop brillant et trop puissant pour mon saxo qui l'est déjà à l'origine. J'ai donc acheté un Bec Max Ionata 7* et cela correspond au son que je recherche. La quête du son est une recherche perpétuelle. Merci à toute l'équipe de SYOS pour votre travail et pour votre site internet qui est très bien conçu pour facilité le choix de l'achat.
Coming from a Jody Jazz HR Custom Dark 7* I was looking for a second mouthpiece with a litttle more brightness and projection with a slight ‘edge’. After extensive listening to Max Ionata on YouTube I decide that his Syos signature mouthpiece might be the piece I was looking for. A visit by Pauline to the Netherlands provided an excellent opportunity to test the piece. My expectations were more than confirmed. After two months of daily use of the green Max Ionata 8 tenor mouthpiece that I purchased this mouthpiece has become my favorite!

Bec avec un son précis, équilibré, plutôt chaud avec une grande facilité d'émission; je n'ai jamais connu de bec qui permettent de sortir les notes graves aussi facilement avec un timbre riche.
I am very satisfied and comfortable using this mouthpiece, the sound has more body and i can easily get the low and high register note without pressure.

I already own two SYOS mouthpieces but wanted to try a smaller tip size and as I like Max Ionata thought it was worth a try. The mouthpiece arrived quickly and met all my expectations, as many people have commented a good mouthpiece is one which gets out of the way of your playing. I feel comfortable playing all over the horn and love its rich sound, not too bright and not too dark. There is a very good review by Nick Mainella on YouTube, worth checking out. All in all very pleased.
