This mouthpiece is manufactured using Laser Metal Fusion, an advanced metal 3D printing technology used in aerospace and high-precision engineering. Fine titanium powder is fused layer by layer with a high-precision laser, allowing us to create internal geometries with an extraordinary level of precision.

The geometry we design is exactly the geometry you play.

Before releasing this mouthpiece, we asked a few musicians to spend time with it. Not just for a quick test, but to really play it.
Two of the first players to try the final version were Ted Nash and James Carter, two saxophonists with very distinct voices and approaches to the instrument.
What surprised us was how naturally the mouthpiece adapted to both of them.
Ted Nash immediately noticed the balance of the sound. Enough edge to project, but still warm and controlled, something that many metal mouthpieces struggle to achieve.
James Carter pushed the mouthpiece in a completely different direction, exploring its power, projection, and the richness of the overtones.

The name In a Sentimetal Mood is our playful tribute to one of the most beautiful jazz pieces ever written, In a Sentimental Mood. While developing this mouthpiece, we often had a certain sound in mind.

Titanium Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece - In a sentimetal Mood
I have been playing the SYOS titanium mouthpiece for the last month. It is by far the best mouthpiece I’ve ever played.
My previous mouthpiece was the SYOS Chad LB piece with the same tip opening (110). I read that the baffle of the new titanium piece was copied from this design, so I felt confident that I would like the tone.
I’m a bit of an audio tech geek so I compared the spectrum of the Chad LB with the titanium mouthpiece, and they were identical across several different notes that I tested (and also sound the same).
However there are a few improvements over the Chad LB that I really appreciate. First, the sound seems more clear and there is less wind/spitty sounds mixed in with the tone. Secondly, when pushed to loud volumes over the course of a long gig, it seems less prone to “closing up” which in the past would require me to swap in a stronger reed.
I attribute these improvements partly to the much smoother surface finish (no ridges!) as well as the more narrow form factor typical of metal mouthpieces. This change in form factor requires you to adjust your embouchure, which took a few hours (don’t worry if you squeak at first!).

Not quite as versatile as my Barone Hollywood, but quite a bit better than my Shiva IV

a lot.among them 3 syos mp ´s.ok there was a little problem with the mpcushions they did not want to stick. but the solution were syos cushions.
Ce bec a une grande valeur symbolique, et je suis convaincu qu’il deviendra un classique dans un avenir proche.
Il est extrêmement difficile de fabriquer un bec avec une telle précision en titane, pourtant vous avez relevé ce défi avec brio. Je suis très honoré de posséder cette édition limitée.
Le jeu est absolument remarquable : je contrôle parfaitement tous les registres sans effort, que ce soit en soufflant doucement ou avec puissance, sur les harmoniques, les séries d’harmoniques ou les suraigus.
L’ouverture de 0,110 (tip opening 8) reste très confortable à jouer ; même avec des anche de force 3 et plus, la pratique est bien moins difficile que je ne l’imaginais.
C’est tout simplement le meilleur bec que j’ai jamais utilisé, je ne jouerai plus qu’avec lui. Depuis que je l’ai reçu, j’ai décidé de vendre mes cinq ou six autres becs classiques de différentes marques que je possédais auparavant.
What made me buy it were the videos of Ted Nash and James Carter. Players with completely different sounds and styles. yet they both sounded like themselves.
I was sceptical when i saw the baffle. I thought " no nuance, just loud Brecker and Bob Berg sound. ( I like them both, but soundwise they are not in my æsthetic.)
But I have played 34 days every day on my 7 titanium and i can do almost every sound I want. ( Paul Gonsalves is almost possible)
Dynamic range is really wide. ppp-FFF-no problem and maintaining it integrity of the timbre.
SYOS has really come up with " an all arounder" .
i can do every old bag on a Link. But music evolves constantly and this piece makes it possible to go where the music takes me. I am 81 and still searching.

Excellent bec , très facile et très libre, sans subrillance(contrairement à ce que l’on pourrait penser quand on voit sa géométrie intérieure).
Très égal sur toute la tessiture et beaucoup de précisions d’attaque . En plus de tout cela, ce qui est très intéressant, c’est que l’on sent la possibilité d’évolution notre son et de trouver des grains particuliers dans la texture.
Déjà ce bec a les qualités que l’on retrouve dans ceux produits par Syos, à savoir la facilité d’émission. L’heureuse surprise est qu’il permet une expression très homogène sur toute la tessiture de l’instrument et une très large possibilité de sonorité. Jouant principalement un répertoire hard bop en quartet, il est devenu mon bec principal que j’apprécie particulièrement pour les séances plus longues. Bravo pour cette belle réalisation.
Jamais j'aurais pensé qu'un bec soit aussi performant dans tous les domaines. Une très grande facilité d'aisance et de confort pour les lèvres. Une puissance unique sans parlé du son. Je ne regrette pas d'avoir mis le prix sur un tel bec que je recommande fortement
