Biography
Dave Holland is a British saxophonist and educator that received his Bachelor of Music with Honours from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, in the United Kingdom. He relocated to South Africa in 2006 and became an active member of the music scene, appearing on countless albums, tours and TV productions.
Dave has worked with some of the world’s best known artists including John Legend, The Black Eyed Peas, and the O’Jays as well as African icons Angelique Kidjo, Vusi Mahlasela and the late Hugh Masekela. He has also shared the stage with phenomenal musicians in various continents including Randy Brecker, Steve Jordan, Leon Pendarvis and Ray Parker Jr.
In 2014, Dave was offered the opportunity to lead a premium music department with GEMS Education in Abu Dhabi and quickly established himself in the music industry of the United Arab Emirates. Dave performs with a host of bands/ensembles in the UAE including the National Symphony Orchestra Big Band and appears regularly at the Dubai Jazz Festival, Dubai Opera and for all major events such as the Dubai World Cup and Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
In addition to education and performing, Dave continues to record and produce music for a variety of international artists from his studio in Abu Dhabi. Dave uses Syos mouthpieces on the soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones for all studio and live events.
