David Mouton (Dave Mouton), American saxophonist from Lafayette, LA and is the owner and driving force behind Souled Out Entertainment LLC, an artist collective based in Lafayette, Louisiana that has been providing entertainment for weddings, corporate events and other live music venues since 2001. Dave grew up in Lafayette, LA and earned his B.A.in music performance from The University of Louisiana-Lafayette in Lafayette, LA. He studied with Dr. Robert Luckey (jazz) and Dr. William J. Hochkeppel (classical) during his tenure there.
In the year 2000, he founded the musical group Souled Out and has performed for thousands of events across the southern region of the United States performing corporate events, weddings and some exotic stages in Tennessee, Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama and Texas. In 2021, Dave released his self-produced debut release ‘jouant seul’. His performance group The Dave Mouton EXPerience (comprised exclusively from ‘The Cast of Souled Out Entertainment) - a contemporary jazz group that has graced stages across from Texas to Florida. Dave remains active as a recording artist, arranger and clinician.
In 2023 Dave appeared on releases by Deep South Atlantic’s ‘Bipolar Tendencies’ (for the track “Blue”) and Greg Gordon’s single “Nobody But You” and KBUnplugged’s ‘Filters’ (for the track “Voodoo Girl”).
Dave is an endorsed artist for Jerry Harvey Audio, Presonus Electronics, Dante Straps (neck straps & tone boosters) and SYOS - Shape Your Own Sound mouthpieces. Currently Dave resides in his hometown of Lafayette, LA with his wife, Susie and adores his four children Hunter, Ashton, Grace and Madeline. And of course, the couple’s “animal children”, Beaux and Ruby.
Dave is playing a Syos custom mouthpiece on tenor sax, alto sax, soprano sax and Bflat clarinet.
