Biography
Trained in classical music at the conservatory, Elisée Defaut is a French clarinetist and composer developing a unique musical universe at the crossroads of modern jazz, Klezmer influences, and electronic textures.
Through immersive instrumental music, he redefines the role of the clarinet in contemporary music, blending tradition and innovation with a strong artistic identity that is both intimate and explosive. Inspired as much by J.S. Bach as by David Krakauer, Hans Zimmer, and modern jazz, he creates a warm, authentic, and emotionally driven soundscape.
After the release of his critically acclaimed debut EP Démence, Elisée now returns with a new album that fully embraces his artistic vision and passion for sonic exploration.
Also a multi instrumentalist, he expands his sonic palette through bass clarinet and saxophone, constantly searching for new textures, colors, and musical sensations.
