Biography
Julio César Espinosa Cruz, teacher and international saxophonist, was born in the city of Morelia, Michoacán. He graduated in jazz with a specialty in saxophone from the Superior School of Music of Mexico City, Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura ("INBAL", 2005 - 2009). He studied a Big Band specialty with Maestro Joe d'Etienne at DIM Music School in Mexico City, as well as independent studies in New York (2013).
From August 2015 to the end of 2019, he was a professor of saxophone, music improvisation and led a jazz workshop at the Popular Faculty of Fine Arts (UMSNH).
From 2016 to nowadays, he works as the official saxophonist of famous Mexican singer Marco Antonio Solís in various tours in America, such as; "y la Historia Continúa Tour " (2016 - 2017) and "el MÁS Querido Tour " (2018 - 2019); performing in major venues like Luna Park Argentina, Viña del Mar Chile, Staples Center LA, Madison Square Garden NYC, Hollywood Bowl LA, Foro Sol CDMX. He had the opportunity to accompany several artists invited to the tribute "Todos Somos MÁS " such as Lucero, Mijares and Mon Laferte.
Julio Espinosa is currently working on an album of instrumental versions of 10 songs performed by the singer Marco A. Solís which will be released at the end of the year.
