Biography
Antonio Hancock, professionally known as Saxl Rose, is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, recording artist and international touring musician based out of Havre de Grace, Maryland. He has recorded and performed with numerous mainstream artists & bands including Wiz Khalifa, Chris Brown, Paramore, Jojo, Bobby Valentino, Neck Deep & more.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Saxl was introduced to music at a young age. His father, Wayne Hancock, is no stranger to touring; playing sax, keyboards and handling lead vocals in his band, Trylogy. His mother, Liss, was a DJ at a local club in Havre de Grace, Maryland. His uncle & godfather Robert "WaWa" LeGrand was also the guitarist for Teddy Pendergrass up until Teddy’s untimely passing.
He has performed across the US and was even featured on NBC’s Last Call with Carson Daly for a live performance. He was also featured on WBAL, Yahoo News and MSN for his “cow concert” viral video. He has taken part in several tours including a UK arena tour with Neck Deep, which finished with a massive show at Wembley Stadium.
While Saxl is no stranger to the big stage, he is best known for his unique video remixes and his eclectic style. The viral video that sparked off the “Saxl Rose” wave was his saxophone version of “Ain’t It Fun” by Paramore, with whom he later shared the stage with!
