This mouthpiece is really easy to play. I'm still adjusting to it's simplicity compared with the Otto Link. It's also really light which is handy with my huge Cannonball B5 Raven Ice. I'm gonna see how a tenor mouth piece does with my very odd Dorfler & Jerker 1957 next with a different coring. I wish I had access to a few more styles (bright v dark) to compare with but it's hard to afford that yet. Working on it!

I'm absolutely amazed by the performance of this mouthpiece. I received mine today and I'm truly impressed. It's incredibly easy to play and produces a wonderfully projected sound. The red color also adds a cool touch. I'm already planning to purchase another one for my soprano when I get it!

Love the mouthpiece. It really helps with being heard in the mix. The cap doesn’t fit well but the ligature is good. I’m very pleased with this purchase.

This mouthpiece is… exactly what it is claimed to be! It has very bright sound (be sure that this is what you are really looking for) and great power (but this does not mean that you can’t play at low volumes, but of course with some difficulty for subtone). It is also very easy and comfortable to play and has a great consistency across all the register

I was very pleased by this muothpiece. Comparing it to my Theo Wanne Durga 5 its surprisingly good. It's not quite as good as my Theo piece, but wow, im impressed. Compared to my Durga there's two things I actually like better with the spark. 1. The shape, my teeth is a bit uneven and with a slim mouthpiece like any Theo piece this makes it very easy to offset the mouthpiece in your mouth. It's not a huge problem, and it's easy too do something with, you just have to be cautious about it, but still... 2. The color. I love the color of my syos. The purple just...

I find my Theo piece a bit more flashy and basic in the color and more flashy. The color on my syos makes it more personal, it feels like me, Ykyk.

However there is some things that is a lot better on the Durga. My Durga has more depth and power and clarity in the upper range while my syos is a bit more free blowing but thinner in the sound especially in the upper range.

When it comes to altissimo I find both pieces very similar no obvious differences, the Durga may be a insignificant little bit better.

The response is very similar between the two pieces but the stops piece is a lot less responsive. This is not a bad thing though, it just makes the syos easyer to play for players that isn't accustomed to it and more begginer friendly.

All in all I would say it's a piece worth buying. Considering the price it's basicly a steal. I'm getting a soprano sax soon (I think (I hope)) and I'm definitely buying a syos for that. But I'm not quite sure which piece yet, depends on what I'm going to play.

I’ve had a 40 year career as a physics and chemistry teacher, and a semi-professional musician. I have played with many regional big bands and pit orchestras. A common conversation is always about the search for the elusive “holy grail”of mouthpieces. Whether it be a rare vintage or an incredibly expensive contemporary, everyone seems to be looking for “the piece” that provides them their nirvana of sound with the least investment in the craft. Depending upon the individuals investment of time and thought, I find most performers, really do not understand the significance of the construction of the mouthpiece (I.e. chamber size, baffle, design, material, etc.) thereby extending the search to years of trial-and -error attempts to reach some insecure feeling of satisfaction. “Maybe that next one will be even better! “ This brings us the apparent mission of SYOS; educating musicians on what design factors actually contribute to the quality of sound production while offering a product selection that won’t require you to hock your vintage horn collection! My first attempt of trying a SYOS mouthpiece was the selection of the Classic baritone spark. I’ve used it on a few jobs and I must say that I am pretty impressed with it’s balance through all registers and it’s ease of playing. Thus far, I will consider it my “go to” mouthpiece for my big band performances. I have now decided to try out a Classic tenor spark, and a alto medium dark. Maybe I will never stop my quest for the grail, but I can appreciate SYOS for making the quest more knowledgeable, colorful and affordable!

I am enjoying the new mouthpiece. It is meeting my expectations of a more brilliant sound, and volume. It takes a little getting used to especially with a couple of notes speaking immediately.adjusting my embouchure seems to be taking care of that issue..

J’avais un bec syos spark ouverture 7 pour mon ténor dont je suis très satisfait,j’ai donc choisi le même pour baryton . Après essais, je trouve que le son est brillant puissant exactement ce que je cherchais, cependant le baryton demande plus d’air notamment dans les graves, que le ténor, aussi j’ai retourné mon bec pour un échange avec une ouverture 6 qui je pense sera plus confortable pour moi

au début je pensais ne pas réussir à m'habituer. je faisais fausses notes sur fausses notes. JE me suis rendu compte que le problème ne venait pas du bec mais de l'instrument. après une révision, j'apprécie chaque moment , chaque morceau joué avec ce bec . j'ai l'impression de redécouvrir l'instrument.

Le spark’envoie du lourd. Il faut les bonnes anches. Je m’explique. Les ricoh sonnent mieux avec que les vvandoren java. Est ce la coupe US ou française qui veut ça. Je ne sais pas. Mais en tout cas dans un brass band, je prends ma place. Attention à ne pas perdre ses fondamentaux en embouchure car il es tellement facile de tout jouer avec ce bec. Merci syos.

This is a really good mouthpiece! The sound of it is just so beefy and just a really good tone to it. It also adds some pop to the saxophone!

It seems to be what I want-- an easy playing mouthpiece. Don"t have enough experience to say that conclusively, but I am satisfied so far.

Baritone Originals Saxophone mouthpiece - Spark

The Spark mouthpiece made my Bari play VERY sharp. I had to pull it out so far near the end of the cork that it wobbles. SO, I had a new core put on. Still sharp, still wobbles. I returned it for the Steady mouthpiece. Same exact problem.

Pour mes débuts au baryton (sur un Yanagisawa B800 de 1986) j'ai demandé à SYOS de me conseiller, sachant que mes références sont le rythm'n blues, la soul et le funk, des Tower of Power à Leo P en passant par JB et les Blues Brothers... Déjà possesseur de becs SYOS ténor et alto, le tourner vers SYOS m'est apparu évident. Et bien je ne suis pas déçu ! Ce bec (ouverture 8 avec anche Légère Américan Cut 2,25) est d'une facilité déconcertante sur tout l'instrument, y compris dans le siraigus ! Son brillant et puissant évidemment, avec une rondeur magnifique dans les graves et des aigus bien rock... J'adore ! Pour le moment je suis fan !

It's perfect for everything I needed. Boosts my power and gives me increased range. Overall one of my favorite mouthpieces to own.

Don’t get me wrong this mouthpiece is very good for power and punch. But my main problem with this mouthpiece is it fails “the suction test” now if you don’t know what this test is it basically tells you how good the seal is on the mouthpiece and this mouthpiece leaks like CRAZY through both sides of the reed and requires me to use 2 times the amount of air then what I should be.

Es la primera vez que pruebo este tipo de boquillas; fueron mis compañeros de la BIG BAND los que me incitaron a comprarla al verles a ellos con esta nueva marca, desconocida por mí hasta ahora. Aún no puedo dar una opinión basada en el uso, pues es a segunda vez que toco con ella y me estoy haciendo a la abrazadera y como colocar la caña para que el sonido sea el que busco. A priori, y a falta de mayor uso de la misma, me encuentro a gusto y el sonido está bien.

you should fill in the serial number on the inside of the moutpiece with some kind of resin so it doesnt leave space to trap dirt or bacteria

Im amazed how it plays. I play on Amati Baritone sax which isnt really great, and top registers are terribly out of tune. Syos mouthpiece give this horn super sound. I couldnt do a lot with cheap Rico metalite, and Amati mp that was added to the horn. Syos mp give me big control over sound. I like it.
