I'm very happy with the Dayna Stephens mouthpiece. I have two other mouthpieces. Both are good in their individual way, come from respectable makers and neither were cheap but I use each of them for a different kind of music. In contrast the Syos mouthpiece combines the three things that are most important to me. It has power when I need it, and warmth when that fits what I'm playing and I can get multiphonics and distortion in other musics I play. And despite all that every note from high to low plays pure.

This mouthpiece allows flexibility and expression with good intonation throughout the range of the instrument, and in the upper range especially allows me to produce a gorgeous 'thick' tone which is just what I wanted. And it looks cool.

Un problème médical (sans entrer dans les détails, je parle d'une acromégalie) a agit négativement sur le positionnement de ma langue et l'ouverture des cordes vocales m'empéchant de produire les sons dans les registres graves du saxophone (nécessitant que les cordes vocales soient bien ouvertes et la langue dans a position la plus basse possible). J'ai failli abandonner la pratique du saxophone. Dans une dernière tentative j'ai décidé de tenter l'utilisation de becs Syos pour l'alto et le soprano. Et dans les 2 cas, par un miracle inexpliquable, j'ai retrouvé la faculté de jouer des sons graves mais dans le cas du Dayna Sephens avec une brillance et puissance jamais obtenue sur mon saxophone soprano. Magnifique. Syos devrait être remboursé par la mutuelle santé :) !

Good performance over the entire range. I tried several mouthpieces that promised a good dark tone. Thin was the best overall.

As expected from description an previous reviews: a full and warm sound across the entire range. Works well with my Yamaha Z82 soprano

So often in soprano mouthpieces one is forced to choose between ease of intonation and range, depth and control of timbre. How can you sing if there is just a fixed shape to your sound? My Dayna Stephens mouthpiece has allowed me to whisper or scream without losing control of a focused dark sound that can become challenging in the smaller instrument. Working inside a shorter standing wave also typically becomes challenging for intonation when you feature a "phat" sound for your aesthetic preference. This mouthpiece responds effortlessly with my voicing and I can achieve good intonation even with wide intervals and with my early apprenticeship on a new member of the saxophone family. Thanks so much for letting me get drawn into the sound, and learn to sing on the soprano. Bravo!!

Nachdem ich einige verschiedene Mundstücke von Syos ausprobiert hatte, bin ich bei diesem Mundstück angekommen und war vom ersten Moment begeistert. Es ist wie gemacht für mich, ohne dass ich jetzt sagen könnte was genau das Mundstück perfekt macht.
Ich spiele es (tip opening 6) mit Vandoren Java Red (3) und einer Ligatur von Rovner (dark).
Und genau diese Konfiguration hat alles verändert. Meine Intonation sich deutlich deutlich verbessert und meine Töne sind stabiler und stimmen viel besser über den gesamten Tonumfang. Die hohe Randlage mit den palm-keys fühlt sich nicht mehr anstrengend an und klingt auch nicht mehr dünn. Insgesamt hat es für mich die richtige Balance zwischen Widerstand und Power. Dabei klingt es nie blechern schrill oder näselnd.
Für mich also ein Volltreffer und der Kontakt und die Abwicklung bei Syos war erstklassig.

I have an old conn stencil soprano and could never quite get it in tune. Tried mouthpieces after mouthpieces. Finally. This pieces make it easier to play and the tone that it gives is amazing!

Once again I have trusted SYOS and bought a MP . This time for my soprano.
It was a very good idea.
It sounded great, effortless blowing, just what I was looking for to take the edgy metallic sound off my playing.
The SYOS crew were very supportive and they didn’t let me down. Great costumer support!

Soft, pleasant and somewhat dark. Fixed my perpetual intonation on the soprano. For once, I’m playing in tune!

I love the tone! Very round and warm but also with the ability to cut through.
