David Kim (Dae Youp Kim) is a distinguished Korean saxophonist, educator, and ensemble leader based in Daegu. With a bachelor's degree in Orchestral Studies from Keimyung University and ongoing graduate studies in Saxophone and Composition at Daegu Catholic University, Kim has established himself as a versatile musician in both classical and contemporary genres.
As an educator, Kim has built an impressive teaching portfolio, serving as a practical music instructor at various institutions including Daegu Dae-pyeong Middle School, Geochang Seunggang High School, and the Daegaya Youth Orchestra. Currently, he holds several prestigious teaching positions, including saxophone instruction at Gumi Hyungil Elementary School's gifted program and the Daegu Haeol High School Saxophone Orchestra.
Kim's leadership abilities are showcased in his roles as the leader of Kim&s Ensemble and G.W. Band, while also contributing his talents to Sus4 Ensemble and Sus4 Big Band. His experience as a guest musician with the Korea Wind Philharmonic Orchestra further demonstrates his proficiency in orchestral performance.
Between 2021 and 2024, Kim has maintained an active performance schedule, participating in numerous significant cultural events and concerts. Notable appearances include the Monument Concert "Melody of the Stars," WASBE D-1 Year Big Band Volcano, and an international broadcast performance on Arirang Radio's "The Tiniest Stage." His involvement in diverse projects, from regional artist support initiatives to youth arts festivals, reflects his commitment to community engagement through music.
