Syos at NAMM 2025: Music, Innovation, and Community

We had a great time at NAMM this year! I organized a lot of small shows with Syos artists on our booth and it was awesome - each Friday, I'll be publishing a new video from these showcases, so check back weekly to discover performances from artists like Lorren Chiodo, Eddie Rich, and Tivon Pennicott.

We had a great time at NAMM this year! I organized a lot of small shows with Syos artists on our booth and it was awesome. The energy was incredible, with musicians and visitors gathering around to hear our artists showcase their talents and our mouthpieces.

I'm excited to share these performances with you. Each Friday, I'll be publishing a new video from our NAMM showcases on the booth. So it's normal if they don't appear all now, you will have to come back every Friday to unlock a new video. All videos are currently in premiere mode on YouTube, so you can set a reminder to catch them as they go live!

NAMM Showcase Series - Week 1: Lorren Chiodo

To kick off our series, we'll have Lorren Chiodo performing her original composition "Pattern of an Island Girl" with Josh Britt on piano:

Australian saxophonist, vocalist, and composer Lorren Chiodo has built a global reputation through her distinct tone and captivating melodic improvisations. A Berklee graduate, she's toured with Harry Styles at iconic venues like Madison Square Garden and Wembley Stadium. Her versatility spans tender songwriting to electro-pop, with both saxophone and vocals defining her distinctive sound.

Lorren plays on a Syos signature alto saxophone mouthpiece and a Syos signature tenor saxophone mouthpiece, both designed to complement her distinctive sound and playing style.

Week 2: Eddie Rich

In our second week, we'll feature Eddie Rich performing "There Will Never Be Another You" with pianist Uli Geissendoerfer:

Eddie Rich has been prominent on the Las Vegas music scene for over a decade and currently performs as saxophonist for Boyz II Men. His impressive credits include performances with Lady Gaga, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, and Postmodern Jukebox. A Ball State University music performance graduate, Eddie also plays with Vegas-based bands Glasses and Moksha while maintaining an active teaching schedule.

Eddie plays on a Syos signature tenor saxophone mouthpiece that helps him achieve his warm, rich tone while maintaining clarity across all registers.

Week 3: An Tran

For our third week, we'll showcase An Tran playing "Footprints" with Maxime on piano:

Born in 2004 to a musical family, An Tran began piano at age 5 and saxophone at 8. By age 13, she was performing with the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra and at prestigious venues throughout Vietnam. The first Vietnamese female saxophonist endorsed by P. Mauriat, she received a full scholarship to Berklee College of Music, where she's studying Music Production & Engineering with a minor in Music Business for Live Music.

Week 4: Claudia Medina

In week four, Claudia Medina will perform "Summertime" with Maxime on piano:

Claudia Medina is a Peruvian saxophone player, composer, arranger, and educator who founded the educational program "FROM PERÚ TO THE WORLD." After studying at the National Conservatory of Peru, she received a scholarship to Berklee College of Music. She has performed with Grammy winner Susana Baca and leads the Claudia Medina's Peruvian Project, which fuses jazz with Peruvian and Afro-Peruvian music.

Week 5: Tivon Pennicott with Steve Brickman

Week five brings us Tivon Pennicott playing "Just Friends" with Steve Brickman on piano:

Three-time GRAMMY Award winner Tivon Pennicott is a sought-after saxophonist who has collaborated with Esperanza Spalding, Gregory Porter, and Roy Hargrove. He's performed at iconic venues like Royal Albert Hall and Carnegie Hall, and appears regularly on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" with Jon Batiste's Stay Human Band. His playing combines soulful groove with sophisticated harmonic exploration, reflecting his church upbringing and Jamaican heritage.

Steve Brickman, while accompanying Tivon on piano for this performance, is also a wonderful saxophone player and Syos artist himself. Los Angeles-based multi-instrumentalist Steve is an alumnus of the Frost School of Music with degrees in Studio Music & Jazz Saxophone and Classical Composition. His compositions have been featured in films, Super Bowl commercials, and video games. Currently touring with Clairo at prestigious venues like Glastonbury and Radio City Music Hall, he blends music and storytelling to create memorable experiences.

Tivon plays on a Syos signature tenor saxophone mouthpiece that enables him to realize his unique artistic vision.

Week 6: Eric Croissant

For our sixth week, Eric Croissant performs "Softly as the Morning Sunrise" with Maxime:

Based near Los Angeles, Eric Croissant is an active performer, composer, and educator who has worked throughout Southern California at venues including Disneyland and The Blue Whale. He has performed with respected artists like Melissa Manchester and Barbara Morrison. In 2018, he released his debut album "ColorsAround" and has since expanded into various genres including Ska, Funk, EDM, and Neo Soul.

Eric plays on a Syos custom mouthpiece tailored to his specific tonal preferences and playing style.

Week 7: Caleb Arredondo

Week seven features Caleb Arredondo playing "When the Saints Go Marching In" with Tivon Pennicott on piano:

Caleb Arredondo gained popularity through his unique "echo sax" approach, playing in empty parking lots to utilize natural reverb. What began as a modest social media post unexpectedly went viral, amassing over 1.4 million views. His distinctive sound and continued viral success led to the release of his album "Echo Sax" in October 2023. After this booth performance, we went to see him play the same night with the legend Jon Batiste on the big stage and it was really great.

Caleb plays a Syos Originals Steady 7 on alto saxophone, which provides him with the flexibility and responsiveness his playing demands.

Week 8: Lorenzo Ferrero

In week eight, Lorenzo Ferrero performs "Nica's Dream" with Jonathan Montes on piano:

Grammy-nominated and Latin Grammy-winning saxophonist Lorenzo Ferrero excels in jazz, Latin jazz, funk, and Afro-Peruvian rhythms. Based in Los Angeles since 2016, he has recorded for films and TV shows while leading his band "Lorenzo Ferrero and The Collective." As co-founder of The Afro Peruvian Jazz Orchestra, his arrangement of "La Flor De La Canela" won a Latin Grammy. He's also built an educational presence through Tonealley Academy.

Lorenzo plays on a Syos signature alto saxophone mouthpiece and a Syos signature tenor saxophone mouthpiece, both designed to enhance his musical expression.

Week 9: Justin Benzino

We conclude our NAMM showcase series with Justin Benzino playing "Footprints" with Maxime:

Justin Benzino, a tenor saxophonist from Buffalo, NY, is known for his energetic stage presence—dancing, jumping, and engaging with crowds. He performs with Pop/R&B/Soul cover band Charelle Unique & Soul Drip, at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, and primarily with the nationally touring Americana quartet Derek Woods Band. In 2024, he completed two national tours and performed at the 55th Anniversary of Woodstock celebration.

Justin plays on a Syos custom mouthpiece specifically designed to match his tonal concept and playing requirements.
