From IDLES' energetic rock to Moonchild's genre-bending grooves, Syos team's favorite albums of 2024 showcase an eclectic mix of musical influences. The selection spans experimental flamenco, modern jazz fusions, and delicate indie compositions, reflecting the diverse musical tastes that inspire the team's innovative work.

At SYOS, we're not just passionate about creating innovative saxophone and clarinet mouthpieces - we're also music enthusiasts! Here's a collection of our team's favorite albums from 2024, showcasing the diverse musical tastes that inspire our work.

Robin - IDLES "Tangk"

English rock that transmits crazy energy! Absolutely must be seen live.

Philip - Léon Phal "Stress Killer"

A creative blast mixing jazz, house, and hip-hop, creating an intoxicatingly fresh sonic mosaic.

Madeline - Robinson Khoury "Mÿa"

A clever blend of jazz, ancient, electronic, and oriental music. An explosive live experience!

Sylvie - Chris Potter "Eagle's Point"

Luminous music filled with hope. An album that's good for both ears and heart! Chris Potter's incredible tenor with Brad Mehldau's spatial playing and the impeccable rhythm section of Blade and Patitucci.

Maxime - Kenny Barron "Beyond This Place"

I love this album because it's pure Kenny Barron in the way he makes the piano sound, his accompaniment, and especially in the numerous compositions, and it's transcended by alto saxophonist Immanuel Wilkins who fits perfectly into this atmosphere.

Bérénice - Califato 3/4 "Ecclabo de Liberta"

I really love this experimental flamenco group and their other formations (for example Andreh y Manuela). It's a group of Andalusian artists who pay tribute to Andalusian cultures by mixing traditional forms, various cultural references (Judeo-Christian, Gypsy...) and electronic music. Their principle is that there is no "sub-culture"; they seek to enhance unofficial history and cultural mixing. And musically, in their 6-point manifesto, we can notably read: "4- develop the creativity of the 3/4, 6/8 and 12/8 time signature of flamenco palos marking the unique character of our silences and syncopations." I'm a fan! Here's a track from their latest album released this year, with a beautiful music video.

Esteban - Moonchild "Tell Him Tonight"

Moonchild defies time and space. This trio brilliantly combines their hip-hop, R&B and jazz influences. It grooves hard. The compositions are powerful and have their own identity. The track titled 'The Truth' never fails to make me nod my head. Must listen and repeat!

Pauline - Almost Twins "Hands/Trees"

Hands/Trees by Almost Twins is a bit like if Mammal Hands met Junip. It works really well, it's beautiful, delicate. I strongly invite you to try the journey!

This diverse selection of albums reflects the eclectic musical tastes of our team, ranging from experimental flamenco to modern jazz, from indie rock to electronic fusion. Each album brings its unique flavor to our daily inspiration at SYOS, where we continue to innovate in the world of wind instruments.
