Syos Originals is our core line of easy-to-play saxophone mouthpieces, built around one goal: make the horn respond the way you expect it to, every time you pick it up. That's not a slogan — it's a design outcome.

Each Originals mouthpiece is 3D-printed from a digital model, which means the internal geometry — chamber, baffle, tip opening — is reproduced with a precision that traditional carving or molding can't match. We tune that geometry to widen the sweet spot: easier low notes, controlled altissimo, and a response that doesn't fight you when you push dynamics. Every mouthpiece is manufactured in our workshop in France.

Three tone profiles: Smoky, Steady, Spark

All three are available across Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Baritone, in multiple tip openings and ten colors.

• Smoky — dark, warm, rounded tone. Built for players who want depth and body, especially in jazz, ballads, or lower-register work.
• Steady — balanced and easy to play across styles, without adjusting your embouchure. The most versatile of the three.
• Spark — bright, present, cutting tone. For players who need to project over a rhythm section or simply want more edge.

Each profile keeps the same easy-to-play foundation — you're not trading playability for tone color, you're choosing where on the tonal spectrum you want to sit. Unlike ebonite, the polymer keeps its geometry and finish over time: no wear on the tip rail, no yellowing.

Which tip opening is easiest to play for beginners?

A medium opening (around 1.8–2.0mm for alto, 2.3–2.5mm for tenor) is the most comfortable starting point — forgiving enough to build your embouchure, with room to size up later.
